B-basically, Kaito is a whole lot of dere for the kid. I mean, he's always kind of had a soft spot for him because he thinks that Arson hates him because of the whole Replacement Issue thing and tiny Vulp is tiny... but yeah. The heart run definitely has made him a lot more fond of Arson (though he doesn't quite know WHY exactly). Except there's also a part of him that's a bit nervous and still think Arson doesn't like him and stuff so...

Since a bunch of the guilt and mirror shards were brought out of Jinx entirely, does that mean he's completely lost some of the guilt and Love Me Mirror? Or is lava-ing them going to somehow fuse them together into a Mess of Terrible.

The fact that any Vulp is gone for any reason is something surprising for Kaito. Unlike other teams, Vulpecula has never had a major loss of people up until Jinx and Chika got caught in the pillar.

So yeah, the idea of anyone leaving itself is weird but actual winning? O_o;;;

I'D BABBLE ABOUT EVERYONE EVER b-but I think most of it was mentioned in the uber-long write-up. Like which Chika and most of Vulpecula in general, LOT OF DERE POINTS WERE GAINED. And continued to be gained in the aftermath (along with a bit of guuuiiiilt--isn't it amusing how they're both feeling guilty over essentially the same thing? 8|a;).

Since Trixie called Jinx out on his act back after the Gambler game, Trixie has been worming her way a bit closer than some of the other Vulps. And the heart game just kind of cements that view as a sort of fact. This does mean that Jinx will be a lot more likely to share things with Trixie than he is with some others of his team.

But this also means there's a bit of the Must Protect treatment, which for Kaito has always meant "keep away any and all information that could bring _______ harm" and such. idk. so yeah...

But yeah. Fox bro is very dere for his teammates right now, despite the intrusion. just. how does I? ffffff

Izaya mostly thinks anyone who doesn't have an interesting reaction is sort of boring. Not that he doesn't like them--he likes all people. I feel like I'll be dropping Aven soon if only because I've reached that uncomfortable point of "BUT I DO NOTHING AND I HAVE NO EXCUSE FOR DOING NOTHING ANYMORE" also the itch for something new.

And I am really tempted to app Kurono Kei from Gantz just to troll Nishi with his amnesiac canonmate. HURHUR. Also because Kurono has all of my pings (gdit--EVEN THE TWIN THING. IT HAPPENS. WTF.)

Ooooon the other haaaaaand, I could. Reapp Dean. Maybe. Or. Not. The reason I dropped Dean in the first place was because I hit a rut with him. Largely because there was a lot of drama going on at the time and as a character, he was at a tipping point--and he needed to take a memory that is the MOST TRAUMATIC EVER--and I chickenshitted my way out of NOT going through with it and put it off and ffff. And then more things happened and I couldn't keep up and Dean's a reaction-type. When shit goes down, HE IS THERE TO PUNCH A THING. OR SHOOT IT IN THE FACE. And my schedule just doesn't allow for that.

SO. At this point, I think dropping Aven and apping Kurono would be the more fun route. It'd certain give me something new to work on rather than the old frustration of MISSING ALL THE THINGS.

Bit good questions! Basically anything taken out of the heart and destroyed is gone for goof. Now this doesn't mean Kaito can't resupply Kid's stash of bombs or Jinx's guilt, it just means that those pieces are gone. Which lessens the burden and-or makes Kaito a bit klutzy depending.

So yeah lava = terminal for guilt- and mirrordere-shards. Or something.

Kaito's still pretty much the same in his previous view of the detective!

Essentially, Kaito's always been willing to accept Hakuba's attentions but largely he figured that it had to do with the thief-detective thing and okay so maybe it's a little more like they're friends now like Kudo and Kaito are and okay so maybe it's more like... idk something else but still just friends-things, right? And then that happened and Kaito was left... really mentally reassessing his relationship with the detective 8|a;;;

He's not sure how he feels about that whole thing, there's too much going on in Sabra right now for him to really focus on in. Instead, Kaito is very much "DO NOT WANT YOU SLEEPING ON ROOF AND POSSIBLY TAKEN AWAY BY THE OLD MAN, YOU ARE COMING HOME WITH ME, WHETHER TEAMMATES LIKE IT OR NOT" which is hilariously possessive of Kaito, but. He's his thing. Detective. Thing. PEOPLE FROM HIS WORLD ARE HIS RESPONSIBILITY is his sort of skewed perspective--because he was the first one from their world to wake up in Sabra. And--and fffffff. Stay SAFE, stupid kaitou fancier detective thing 8(!!!

Nnnnnoooot sure yet how Kaito will react around Hakuba after the whole heart thing. There will probably be a bit more tsuntsundere. WE SHALL SEE.

Hm hm. Well, Chika and Trixie avoided most of the traumatic areas up until near the end, so he's pretty okay with it. The symbolism mostly flew above his head and what he did encounter didn't really surprise him. I mean, seriously, it's Jinx, he expected mirrors to be there. In the meantime, Chika's fear of Mirror has, not exactly dissipated, but it's gotten a lot less, so the experience wasn't too bad overall. :|a

The complete darkness did freak him out and he's super glad Trixie could fly them out of there. He kind of felt like a deadweight to Trixie in the game so he's fussing over her extra hard after this.

For the most part, he's worried about having done more harm than good to Jinx so he's waiting to see how Jinx reacts to everything when he wakes up.

Kazuha is basically falling into the Must Protect Person From Home She Is My Responsibility thing that Kaito has. Kaito has this view mostly because he's the first from their world to have woken up in Sabra, so he's. Been around the Sabra block once or twice and he'd really really REALLY like to keep Kudo, Hakuba, Hattori, and Kazuha away from those things.

Actually hanging around with her and doing the make-up disguising of the scars was actually pretty fun! He wouldn't mind hanging around her more or getting missions from her again. She seems like a nice girl and Hattori is hella lucky. On the other hand, it makes Kaito miss Aoko and yet THANK GOD AOKO IS NOT HERE--god, poor Hattori having his gf here--... not that. Aoko is his gf or anything--it's not like that! fffffffff

I actually babbled about this a bit on plurk!

Basically, Izaya is seeing more and more that things are starting to tilt toward CRAZY END-TIMES and he's not sure if he's in the right spot to get out of it safely, exactly. He's holding his cards pretty close to his chest at this point, hence why he turned down Queen's offer (by claiming that he has sworn to serve King and Horn and King would be first and foremost, his service can't be spread so thinly) and then ended up thinking that was all a dream or something until Nishi admitted to making DUMB MISTAKE involving Queen. Which Izaya is still judging him for.

Basically, it was thanks to insight from Nishi's experience with a previous seek-and-find mission (the one that recovered Queen's seal) that Izaya started to get a better idea of what was going on during that last mission. Izaya figures that Queen was trying to take out a Judge--or at the very least one-up them, which is a bad thing from what he's seeing of things. Especially considering what he's know about Queen and then later when seeing the reaction his ~~terrible decision making~~ teammate freak out and get sick a bit.

Where's Izaya's real alliance in all of this?

With the Blanks.

... I shit you not, he would rather throw his lot in with the blanks. THIS IS IN NO WAY BECAUSE HE IS A GOOD PERSON and has everything to do with his love for humans and also survival. While he knows that staying as King's servant means that he is safe for the shot term, he knows that it means he's not safe in the long term. Especially since Queen appears to be pulling some hilarious politics on the side that has even GUARDIAN worried about the safety of Ophiuchus.

But yes. Izaya doesn't like Queen, he serves King out of necessity, and Horn out of convenience--but truly, Izaya would be more willing to help out blanks at this point. Mostly to see what they would do with certain information (Izaya's actually considered trying to get at that disk that Nishi mentions (Queen's seal) and try to get the blanks to have a go at it, but it's entirely too risky, but now the idea is to anticipate King and Queen's separate movements--which Izaya's somewhat capable of).

tl;dr: Izaya is the last person you would expect to consider betraying King (not because he's loyal, but more because he's practical about survival and knowing King's got more of a chance at winning than the blanks do) and yet it is entirely possible. ... and he has no clue what betraying King would do to him (hurhur Ophiuchus lolol). For now, he's going to keep sharp attention on what's going on around him and in Sabra. He's been letting things slide a little for some time, but with that bit of a wake-up call, he's going to be a LOT more nosy.

My favorite relationship is definitely with Trixie. The fact that they grew so attached to each other and became each other's MOST IMPORTANT PERSON. Trixie basically became Chika's family, as close as one can get to Chika without being related by blood. And no matter how hard the going gets, Chika will never give that up. It's kind of a relationship that'll last forever for him, no matter what happens. I love how absolutely platonic they are despite how their behavior may look like from a third person's point of view. It's just hilarious and amazing.

Lucky is also another one I enjoy. Mostly because it actually managed to evolve from a mutual grudging tolerance to actual care and concern, thanks to Teriha appearing and then Old Sabra and some other things I can't remember.

Parrot ALL OF IT. 8(
I love his relationship with Thumper. Thumper is really the first Cetus to top the hell out of Parrot. Walling him and reminding him what the team actually expected from him, among other things. Thumper and Rooflass are the two Cetus that Parrot grew the most attached to. And I love that the love is still there despite Parrot having switched over to Ophiuchus willingly.

Among the relationships that I love that have been broken now are Parrot's with Mitsuru and Wolfwood too. :( He was managing so well with them.

Parrot and Edge's relationship are one that I enjoy too. Since Edge is currently Parrot's only bro in Ophi - someone he trusts and can be himself around.

Tifa
Her relationship with Daisy is hilarious. He's the first person to teach her what it's like to rely on someone and got her used to sharing a room. He's her BFF! And as annoyed as she gets about him trying to take everything on himself, she still loves him anyway.

Folken. lolo Folken. At first he was just a nice guy. Then he saved her life from raptors by risking his own, pinging her in her hero-worship side. Then he consistently remained nice to her until eventually it turned into a sort of crush on Tifa's end. Tifa is genuinely happy around him and is simultaneously forward and shy. It's amazing.

There are more relationships I can ramble about really. I love them aaall. But I am lazy and limiting myself to two each so... yes.

Ironically, part of it is the same thing as Kaito. The 'I have to protect people from my world!!!' Though it's because she's an Ophi and figures if she's in a horrible position, she's doing some good for her world.

But she does like Kaito, despite the weirdness of the DCMKland Doppleganger syndrome. She actually likes Vulpecula in general when they aren't being overly paranoid at her. And she loves a show man, and really appreciates the help because it's been a pretty big concern of hers for a while on how to deal with new scars at home. Little things are easy to explain, not raptor chompings. And it was fun beyond that!

But basically, Kaito's gotten a little bit of a reboot in regards to Mirror. By destroying the Mirror-throne thing in his heart, Hydracula has essentially destroyed the 52-day memory bubble that Mirror had given Kaito during his second stay with her. It was during this "memory" that Kaito got a certain conditioning that made him want her attentions even more than he had previously. Essentially, this is when the Stockholm's-y thing got really bad. AND NOW IT IS GONE.

So Kaito's back to being kind of terrified of Mirror but at the same time like 25% wanting her attention/to help her/etc... though it's a step better than like 75% that. Or something. Herpderp. This does mean that Kaito will be like using other people as a meatshield between him and Mirror (unless it's a teammate, in which case he will be in front of them... and be terrified the whole time).

In short, right now all he remembers of the second visit is going to Mirror, Mirror using Dove's reflection, claiming to want to keep him, her dragging him to a mirror--and then suddenly in the lake with Trixie and everything's weird and... remains that way. For some reason--oh, 52 day memory bubble. I-I don't even... I PLEAD INSANITY D8!

But really, of course I love Kaito's relationships with the detectives--it's just hilarious to bounce off of Shinichi and Hakuba. rofl. Need to harass Hattori more.

Beyond this Kaito and Excel's relationship will always make me snicker and cackle with glee. They started out okay with each other, then always fighting with each other, then begrudgingly accepting of each other, then sort of maybe liking each other a little, and then BACK TO ALL THE FIGHTING BUT IT'S BECAUSE WE'RE TOO CLOSE AND HAVE OPINIONS THAT CAN NEVER RECONCILE. Of course they'll never be like BROS like Excel is with like Scowl, but that's because they have OPINIONS and don't like having their OPINIONS to be nay-say'd by the other. 8|a!!!! I do love it when they fight though, it's always hilarious.

I also adore Kaito's relationship with Red, though that's been put at a stand-still mostly because ffffff schedule and also fffff Kaito knows Red's dealing with his own thing and Kaito needs to deal with his. To be hoooonest... if Kaito were a bit more aware about certain things, there might be beginnings of crushing antics but alas, distracted by other things and already has/had a love-interest back home and in Sabra. Red is so his bff though 8(b

How Nishi and Izaya interact AMUSES ME TO NO END. This was a relationship I hadn't thought would ever happen but pan-fandom RPs, you make things beautiful and shiny and and--! Basically, I just love playing them off of each other. They're opposites on the same spectrum, they react to things differently but on the occasion they meet on the same wavelength and just... get along. Then again, Izaya knows Nishi would love to get a chance to kill him just 'cause and Izaya wouldn't lose sleep over Nishi kicking the bucket.

Mostly, I just love Nishi's faces and I love that it's only been in threads with Nishi that Izaya has made certain faces and... hilarious things. ... Nishi and I babble at each other about all the hilarity constantly. Haha. :'D

I ALSO LOVE PLAYING IZAYA OFF OF LIZARD KING. I SHOULD DO THAT MORE.

RORY IS SUPER PLEASED.

All kind of relates back to that essay I did. Rory is sane because he has his PEOPLE. And his people are important and if they are there, he is sane and happy. ALL THE DROPS DID HIT HIS SANITY PRETTY HARD. He was able to deal, but it all just kind of pounded against him until Dean and Mirielle and then he went and sadfaced at Amy until he got better except for being overprotective at Night and Royal.

OVERALL, he was sane and capable of being happy, but had a depression he was pretty much ignoring for the sake of FAMILY and AMY and such.

BUT

DAGGER CAME BACK!

DAGGER CAME BACK!

And it was just a boost in the fact that, yes, people DO return. That he can, no, WILL see all his family again eventually. And Dagger was one of those people who woke up on the first day with Rory, so he's particularly happy because there's just that bond of being the first and it just makes him so SUPER HAPPY and RELIEVED he's back and safe and with the family again. It's just like there's honest PROOF that things will get better, he just has to be patient and aaaa, yay, family returned~! <3 <3 <3
